Accessibility Statement

Our commitment
InfantContrast.com is built for parents and caregivers. We strive to provide an inclusive, accessible experience for everyone by designing with simplicity, high contrast, clear structure, and keyboard support.
Standards & conformance target
We aim to meet WCAG 2.2 Level AA across core pages and interactions. The site uses semantic HTML, ARIA labels for the carousel, visible focus states, and color-independent affordances.
Current accessibility features
- Visual contrast: The on-screen visuals are pure black/white patterns designed for high contrast. Interface text uses sufficient contrast against a dark background.
- Keyboard navigation: The carousel region can be focused and navigated with left/right arrow keys. The active slide is announced via ARIA labels.
-
Structure & semantics: Landmarks and roles (e.g.,
role="region",aria-roledescription="carousel", grouped slides with labels) support assistive tech. - Responsive layout: Scales to multiple viewport sizes and orientations; supports zoom without breaking layout.
-
Reduced animation: Motion is minimal (slide transitions). We respect
prefers-reduced-motionwhere set. - No color-only cues: Interaction relies on position, motion, and text—not color alone.
Known limitations
- Skip link: A global “skip to content” link is present; we welcome feedback on placement and styles.
- Focus outlines: Core focus outlines are visible; we continue tuning for consistency across browsers.
Compatibility & assistive tech
We test with current versions of Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge on desktop; Safari on iOS; Chrome on Android. Screen reader spot checks: VoiceOver (iOS/macOS), NVDA (Windows). Older browsers or OS versions may experience reduced support.
