What is this site?
InfantContrast.com is a free collection of crisp black-and-white visuals you can swipe
through on a phone/tablet or print at home. No accounts or sign-ins—just open and use.
Is it safe for my child?
This is not medical advice. Supervise at all times, keep screen brightness comfortable,
and stop if your baby seems overstimulated (fussiness, turning away). If you have
concerns—especially around photosensitivity—consult your pediatrician.
Is this medical advice?
No. InfantContrast.com is an educational tool created by a parent, not a medical provider.
Nothing on this site should be taken as medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. For any
questions or concerns about your baby’s vision, development, or overall health, always
consult your pediatrician or another qualified healthcare professional.
Has this content been reviewed by professionals?
The information on this site is based on widely accepted developmental science and
reputable sources in infant visual research. However, it is not a formal medical resource
and is not a substitute for individualized guidance from your child’s healthcare team. We
encourage parents and caregivers to use this site as a starting point for learning and to
bring any questions to their pediatrician or pediatric eye specialist.
How do I use the cards on screen?
Open the site, go full-screen, and swipe left/right (or use arrow keys). Hold the device
at a comfortable distance and follow your baby’s cues for session length.
How do I print the cards?
Print in black-and-white on plain paper or cardstock (borderless if available). Keep the
image large and high-contrast. Prop or hold the card where your baby can see it without
straining.
How long and how often should I use them?
Short, calm sessions work best—think minutes, not hours. There’s no strict schedule; let
your baby’s interest guide you and take breaks.
What ages are these for?
Primarily newborns and young infants who respond to strong contrast. Every baby is
different—adjust patterns, distance, and duration to your child.
Do these work on any device?
Yes—modern phones, tablets, and computers. If visuals look off, try rotating the device,
refreshing the page, or switching browsers.
Can I use them at night?
Yes—dim the screen to avoid glare and protect sleep. If bedtime gets disrupted, try
daytime sessions instead.
Accessibility tips
Use full-screen mode, reduce reflections, and consider printed cards if screens are
distracting. Keyboard left/right arrows work on desktop.
What are my rights to use the content?
Personal use is free: view on screen and print for your family or classroom. Commercial
use (reselling, bundling in paid apps/products) isn’t allowed without permission. See our
Terms.
Do you collect personal data?
We don’t run accounts or require personal info. Our host may log basic technical data for
security. If we add analytics or ads, we’ll configure them to be privacy-friendly. Read
our Privacy Policy.
Will there be ads or affiliate links?
Possibly later. If enabled, ads will be child-directed and prefer non-personalized
placements. We may include affiliate links and will disclose them. Details live in the
Privacy Policy and Terms.
How do I report a problem or suggest a pattern?
Email infantcontrast@gmail.com with your
device, browser, the page URL, and what went wrong (a screenshot helps). Suggestions
welcome!
